Energy Research and Development
Centralization Project Office
Director Katsumi KURUMA
Aiming at self-supporting relationship between local community and nuclear
technology, Fukui Prefecture established “Energy Research and Development
Centralization Plan” in March 2005 with the goal of transforming the prefecture
into comprehensive R & D centralized region for energy with nuclear
power in its core and activating the local industries by not confining
nuclear power plants just as power-production “factories” but taking advantage
of their accumulation. To promote the plan, Energy Research and Development
Centralization Project Office was installed at the Wakasa Wan Energy Research
Center on July 24, 2005.
As the promotion engine of the plan, Energy Research and Development Centralization
Project Office provides comprehensive coordination in all phases of “enhancement
of R & D function”, “education and exchange of human resources” and
“creating and fostering new industries”, and one-stop service to solve
issues of companies within the prefecture in a comprehensive and unified
way.
