| Fukui Prefecture established “Energy Research and Development Centralization
Plan” in March 2005 towards self-supporting relationship between local
community and nuclear technology. The goal of this plan is to transform
Fukui Prefecture into comprehensive R & D centralized region for energy
with nuclear power in its core by not confining nuclear power plants just
as power-production “factories” but taking advantage of the unique features
that many nuclear reactors of various kinds are concentrated in the Prefecture. |
